Teacher Training on Carbon Cycling, Climate and Climate Modeling

In summer 2009 and 2010, Galen McKinley, assistant professor in the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, will offer a training workshop to high school teachers in order to improve their content knowledge regarding the natural and human-modified carbon cycle and its primary role in climate change. Galen will also train teachers in the use of a student-friendly global climate model, the EdGCM.

Outcomes

Increased understanding of climate change, its impacts on Wisconsin and of our ability to mitigate.
