Community Service Programs - School of Medicine and Public Health
The mission of UW-SMPH Office of Community Service Programs is to create, provide and support service and civic engagement opportunities for and by medical students. Our goal is to enhance medical education through meaningful service and learning experiences that benefit the community and address a recognized need. The office works to link medical students to the community, assisting students and community partners to create and maintain community service and engagement opportunities by: serving as a bridge between community partners, students and the university; and identifying recognized community needs and developing opportunities for students to work with community partners toward addressing these needs.
Outcomes
A variety of short-term and sustained community service projects are carried out annually through the CSP office. Projects benefit K-12 students, low-income communities, the uninsured and the homeless while providing educational and service opportunities to medical and health professions students.
