Humanities Without Boundaries Lecture Series
The Center for the Humanities' flagship public lecture series brings world-renowned scholars to Madison whose work represents the best of the humanities and scholarship that crosses traditional disciplinary boundaries. These lectures draw diverse populations from throughout Madison and provide a forum for thoughtful dialogue between cutting-edge thinkers and community members. This series is made possible by the Brittingham Foundation and the Anonymous Fund of the UW-Madison College of Letters and Science.
Outcomes
The Humanities Without Boundaries lecture series has brought over 60 scholars to campus since the program’s inception in 2000. In addition to public lectures, visiting scholars participate in additional events, whether symposia, brownbag discussions, or classroom visits. They also often participate in interviews on programs like To the Best of Our Knowledge on Wisconsin Public Radio, reaching an even broader public than might be able to attend their lectures.
