Wisconsin Union Theater
The Wisconsin Union Theater presents its own season and also serves as the university's main and largest public venue. The audience and artists include people from throughout Wisconsin and from neighboring states. Additionally, undergraduate and graduate students work and intern at the theater, gaining valuable experience and learning. The theater prides itself on being a programmer/venue which serves people of all ethnicities, skin color, age, language, etc. At times, people drive for many hours to participate in an event that it presents and that attracts a specific demographic group whom no one else in the state serves.
Outcomes
Audience per year reaches over 250,000, with 10,000-15,000 attendees for the World Music Festival and 10,000 for the jazz festival. The theater offers exposure to a large variety of cultural and arts events, many of them unique to Madison and the state.
