Industry Partnerships, Bridges and Pathways: Experience Raising Skills in Wisconsin
COWS has long provided technical assistance to the Department of Workforce Development and the Wisconsin Technical College System to improve educational outcomes and career opportunities for low-income working adults in the state. COWS supports increasing skills for the workforce thought data analysis, technical advise to system partners and paper overviewing best national practices. COWS has completed with WTCS an analysis of the progression of low-skilled adults through the educational pipeline. COWS also monitors changes in the Wisconsin economy and what those changes mean for workers, employers and training institutions in the state.
Outcomes
The RISE Partnership and other efforts aim to improve educational and employment outcomes for Wisconsin's 700,000 low-income, lower-skilled working adults. Projects provide a better connection between state education and training systems and industry demand, along with a better understanding of the progression of lower-skilled students through the educational pipeline, including where students fall through the cracks.
