UW Cardiovascular Research Center
The UW Cardiovascular Research Center brings together over 130 researchers, physicians and educators to focus on ways to prevent and treat cardiac problems through basic research, clinical investigation, diagnosis, treatment and public education. The main goals of the center are to develop state-of-the-art approaches to prevention and treatment, establish educational programs and to inform the public about cardiovascular disease. The center is also focused on training the future scientists and physicians that are destined to lead in treating and ultimately reducing the incidence of cardiovascular diseases.
Outcomes
The UW Cardiovascular Research Center will work to reduce the incidence of cardiovascular disease in Wisconsin and the nation and to develop effective approaches to treating cardiovascular disorders and disease. Areas of breakthrough include unlocking the genetic code of heart failure, regenerating heart muscles, and developing new treatments.
