UW Health Osteoporosis Clinical Center and Research Program
The UW Health Osteoporosis Clinical Center and Research Program located in Madison, provides clinical evaluation and treatment of people with osteoporosis and related bone disorders. The Center's four-pronged approach includes assessment and optimization of nutrition, physical activity, social issues, and medical assessment/management. In addition, clinical research efforts focus on finding better ways to maintain bone health, and prevent and treat osteoporosis, as well as the fractures that may accompany this disease. Current projects include evaluating ways to improve osteoporosis diagnosis, investigating the role of nutrition in osteoporosis development and prevention, and evaluating new medications to prevent or treat osteoporosis and bone disease.
