Program on Agricultural Technology Studies (PATS)
The Program on Agricultural Technology Studies (PATS) is an applied research and extension unit at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The program provides timely, objective, and accessible assessments of new and emerging agricultural technologies to farmers, agricultural workers, consumers, and decision makers in the public and private sectors. PATS monitors and analyzes scientific, technological, and policy developments that affect agriculture, farm and community structure, and environmental quality. An advisory committee that includes university researchers, farmers, business owners, and state agency employees helps guide outreach efforts and provides networking assistance. Staff members speak at conferences and other group gatherings around Wisconsin as well as produce high-quality publications of their assessments.
