Wisconsin CARES: Creating A Responsive and Effective System for Protecting and Promoting our Children’s Well-Being
The Wisconsin CARES initiative represents a collaborative effort between the UW-Madison, UW Cooperative Extension, county child and family serving agencies and community leaders, all united to enhance county capacity to protect and promote child well-being. The purpose of this effort is to support counties as they assess and extend their spectrum of services, policies and approaches that support child well-being. The initiative is comprised of four stages that include bringing together community leaders, creating a shared understanding, formulating a common vision and developing a county-specific system of care that includes shared measurement and evaluation. WI CARES is currently active in Columbia, Dodge, Pierce and St.Croix counties.
