Madison Neighborhood Indicators
The Madison Neighborhood Indicators project seeks to quantify the diverse and changing social conditions in Madison neighborhoods. The project staff has endeavored to provide up-to-date measures each year, bringing together data from a variety of sources and compiling them into a suite of variables used to generate neighborhood level reports. These data provide insight into Madison’s varied social landscape, helping to identify and highlight the presence of neighborhoods’ assets and helping guide their development when they are lacking.
Outcomes
Neighborhood Indicators have been used to support grant proposals and other efforts by the City to support Madison Libraries, inform community center siting, prioritize transportation investments, target CDA energy efficiency loads, and numerous other public and private endeavors.
