Nature Talks for Children
UW Honorary Fellow and recent graduate student Brian Walsh leads scientific presentations and demonstrations to children in summer camps and public schools across the state. Walsh has acted as the Nature Specialist at the Pottawatomie Hills Camp for girls in East Troy, Wis. since 2006.
Outcomes
Walsh interacted with about 450 children during the week at Camp Pottawatomie and speaks to large school groups across the state, using pictures, games and stories to teach high-level (including college-level) science concepts to young children.
