Training for School-Based Speech-Language Pathologists
UW-Madison Faculty Associate Trici Schraeder provides professional in-service training for school-based speech-language pathologists (SLPs). She has been an invited speaker at 12 local, state, regional, or national conferences during the past year. In addition, Schraeder was nationally recognized as the 2010 recipient of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation’s Rolland J. Van Hattum Award for providing school speech-language pathologists with new cutting-edge clinical training.
Outcomes
Schraeder's grant provided $500 in funds toward the university as well as $1,000 to Schraeder's own research. Schraeder's leadership in promoting school-based service delivery has led to the development of the professional performance review process for school-based SLPs, advocating for evidenced-based practices as well as collaborating to create a workload analysis approach to schools caseload standards and initiating inclusive service delivery models.
