Text-to-Pictures iPad App Project
Clinical Professor Jaime Murray-Branch is the lead collaborator on the “Text-to-Pictures” project where researchers are working to create an iPad application that conveys text and words through visual presentations. The application may improve literacy in children who require supplemental support to read and in adults learning a second language. In addition, the application may be used as an assistive communication tool for people with dyslexia or brain damage.
Outcomes
The iPad application has been used in therapy to assist those with communicative disorders. The collaborators hope to use this application as a national teaching tool for those with disabilities as well as for those trying to learn a new language.
