Orthopedics Workshop for Veterinary Technicians
Participants will explore veterinary orthopedic conditions ranging from ligament and tendon damage to severely comminuted fractures. Participants will learn to provide patients with care before and after surgery. Participants will also better understand cranial cruciate rupture and how to care for the patient with this condition. Tips and techniques for obtaining quality radiographs for diagnostic interpretation will be learned. The bandaging lecture will give information on how to apply bandages correctly to provide patients with comfort and stability. Alternative support techniques for a number of conditions will be demonstrated.
