UW-Madison Division of Diversity Equity and Educational Achievement and the L&S Center for Academic Excellence
Researcher Steve Kosciuk works with both DDEEA and CAE programs as an analyst to discover, design and develop strategies that promote the academic achievement of underrepresented minorities on the UW-Madison campus. Since 5-8% of each minority Fall Entrance cohort will take more than 6 years to graduate, Professor Kosciuk has developed a series mathematical models which project graduation rates after one, two or three years. Interestingly, all of the models hit actual graduation rates to within 2-3% or less. Thus, there is an accurate means to assess the impact of our strategies on graduation immediately after their implementation.
