Tallgrass Prairie and Oak Savanna Fire Science Consortium
Professor Paul Zedler's project is one of a nation-wide set of fire science consortia that are funded by the Federal Joint Fire Science Program. The purpose is to improve the flow of information within the fire science-fire practice community. Although the project deals with portions of eight states in the tallgrass prairie region, it has definite benefits for Wisconsin. It allows many Wisconsin fire scientists and practitioners to be part of a large community centered on this vitally important wildland management method. Group activities include regional meetings, field days, and the publishing of fire science research briefs.
