Wisconsin Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan
The quality of Wisconsin's parks and trails largely results from excellent planning, much of which originates within Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plans (SCORP). During the past 3 SCORP cycles (since 1998), the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources - Bureau of Parks and Recreation has relied upon applied research and outreach of the UW - Madison Department of Urban and Regional Planning. The current 2011-2016 Wisconsin SCORP had its genesis as a graduate planning workshop during the Fall Semester of 2010 led by Professor Dave Marcouiller and Jeff Prey. This SCORP recently won a national award from the Society of Outdoor Recreation Professionals and the National Park Service.
