The Wisconsin Idea in Action

K-12 Family Science Nights

In collaboration with the Adult Role Models in Science (ARMS) group at UW-Madison, UW genetics faculty organize a series of Family Science Nights at K-12 schools and community centers in Madison and surrounding cities in Wisconsin. The group connects hundreds of volunteers at UW-Madison, MATC, East High School and other institutions with local schools interested in putting on science events. Based on information provided by the schools on the ARMS request website, we solicit 8-10 activities per event. Last year ARMS helped organize 20 Family Science Nights, which received immense positive feedback from teachers, schools, parents and kids.
