Addressing Postpartum Depression in Wisconsin Home Visiting Programs
The Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF) has identified postpartum depression as a major concern for women served by Home Visiting Programs. The project will address this concern by integrating screening and an evidence-based group intervention. UW faculty and staff with the Wisconsin DCF and Wisconsin Division of Public Health will implement this project by providing statewide trainings to home visiting providers; in-person training and co-facilitation of the Mother-Infant Therapy Group (M-ITG); a Train the Trainers component to develop a cadre of Peer Mentors who can provide training and support for implementation of M-ITG to other Home Visiting Programs; a unique graduate student service learning opportunity.
