The Wisconsin Idea in Action

Helping Farmers Cope with Changing Climate

Drought, flooding, new pests brought on by temporal changes in the onset and duration of the growing season—these are only a few climate related challenges that Wisconsin farmers have to deal with. A range of experts in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences help farmers with climate related growing concerns. From breeding drought-resistant plants strains to dealing with pests and monitoring weather changes in the field, CALS faculty from agronomy, horiticulture, soil sciences, entomology and other disciplines provide assistance.
