Inter-Cultural Dialogues course at the Sociology Department
Inter-Cultural Dialogues (ICD) is a unique, student-run and peer-facilitated diversity education program promoting civic engagement among the undergraduate population at UW-Madison. ICD offers students a safe environment for dialogue on race-related issues, with the objective of raising social awareness and fostering dedication to the community. Each ICD student takes part in a community outreach project of her/his choice, and in addition many students chose to volunteer at an off-campus nonprofit organization for a service learning credit. ICD alumni went on to work as educators (in Madison and Milwaukee schools, as well as nationally), as civil-society organizers, journalists utilizing social media for outreach, and more.
