Phosphorus and water quality of the Yahara Lakes
Phosphorus runoff causes algae blooms and other harmful changes in the Yahara lakes (Mendota, Monona, Waubesa, Kegonsa and Wingra near Madison, Wisconsin). Our research maintains phosphorus databases and models that are used to understand and manage water quality of the Yahara lakes.
Outcomes
Results are provided to Dane County and City of Madison water quality managers on request.
