Live It! Real Life Nutrition for Teens
Columbus Hospital collaborated with the UW Departments of Nutrition and Food Sciences to implement the Live It! program in Columbia County schools. This evidence-based program targets child obesity prevention by increasing awareness of healthy food choices and the importance of physical activity. Learning is achieved through class and home-based activities for which students receive points, such as preparing a healthy recipe and learning to read food labels. Students and classes competed against each other for rewards. This project was made possible by a 2012-13 Rural Community Grant from the Wisconsin Office of Rural Health.
