Waisman Center
The Waisman Center, located on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus, is one of only 14 centers in the United States dedicated to the advancement of knowledge and research on intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Waisman Center, which opened in 1973, is home to a multidisciplinary research center that includes laboratories for biomedical and behavioral research, 12 specialty clinics, a brain imaging center and a model inclusive preschool program. The center also provides clinical services, educational and outreach programs, and training for scientists and clinicians to continue making an impact in the lives of children and families affected by developmental disabilities and neurodegenerative diseases in Wisconsin and beyond.
