Student Hometown Projects - Hudson
Four undergraduate students have been given the opportunity to identify and solve an issue in their hometowns by partnering with a community organization and a UW-Madison faculty mentor through the Wisconsin Open Education Community Fellowship. The undergraduates will receive $3,000 stipends as well as up to $1,000 for project expenses, and each of their community partners and mentors will receive $1,000 for participating in the project. One of the four undergraduates, Sarah Krier of Hudson, will work with the local YMCA Day Camp Day to help campers better understand the work of Aldo Leopold through making A Sand County Almanac a central part of the curriculum.
