Student Hometown Projects - Green Bay
Four undergraduate students have been given the opportunity to identify and solve an issue in their hometowns by partnering with a community organization and a UW-Madison faculty mentor through the Wisconsin Open Education Community Fellowship. The undergraduates will receive $3,000 stipends as well as up to $1,000 for project expenses, and each of their community partners and mentors will receive $1,000 for participating in the project. One of the four undergraduates, Laura Schmitt of Green Bay, will work with Mosaic Arts, Inc. to encourage middle and high school students to write and perform prose, poetry, or essays on topics related to the work of William Shakespeare.
