Plastics Research Enhanced by University Resources
With the help of Tim Osswald, UW-Madison plastics engineering Professor, Teel Plastics has been able to have a competitive edge over other companies because of the research that is put into product development and problem solving. Teaming up with Teel also helps Osswald’s students learn how to solve relevant problems in the plastics industry. For instance, Osswald and his students manufactured a device that assesses the quality of foaming during a process that created a foamed structure within a plastic tube. Utilizing the resources of UW-Madison doesn’t only give Teel access to research expertise but also gives engineers from Teel the opportunity to learn more about their field by taking classes, some of which are taught by Osswald.
