GlovesOn Surgeon Training
The best way for practicing surgeons to better their skills is through hands-on education, which is why the UW-Madison Department of Surgery began the GlovesOn program in 2011. This program gives surgeons the opportunity to train for new procedures by learning from other surgeons in an operating room setting. A surgeon can use this program to continue their education and stay up to date with the latest clinical care information at any point in their career. Participants are able to identify a procedure in which they would like to gain skills, and then the UW surgery staff will pair them with one of the UW surgeons who will show them the new technique in the operating room.
