Wisconsin Promoting Readiness of Minors in Supplemental Security Income (PROMISE)
The UW is assisting with a statewide project called Wisconsin Promoting Readiness of Minors in Supplemental Security Income (PROMISE). The Wisconsin PROMISE is aimed at improving services for youth receiving SSI benefits and their families. The UW research team, led by Professor Chan and Professor Tansey, designs assessments to track progress of participants, evaluate the services provided by the project, and identify the elements associated with improving outcomes. The UW’s research with the Wisconsin PROMISE is one facet of their involvement across the state and nation on projects designed to identify evidence-based practices for vocational rehabilitation agencies in efforts to assist people with disabilities obtain employment.
