Public Works Supervisory Academy
The Public Works Supervisory Academy is a 9-course series tailored for those who oversee the engineering, water, sewerage, parks, and street divisions in Wisconsin cities, villages, and counties of all sizes. Classes meet in Madison and Sheboygan, and courses topics include Basic Management Skills and Practices, Work Planning, Goal Setting & Time Management, Communication Skills, Customer/Resident Service, Nuts and Bolts of Personnel Management, Equipment Use and Workplace Safety, Fund Accounting and Grant Administration, Labor Relations/Negotiating Skills, Stress Management/EAP and Inventory Management.
Outcomes
Since 1997, 308 people have enrolled in the program, and 115 of those have completed the series.
