Sarah Krier, an undergrad, received an award from the Wisconsin Open Education Community Fellowship offered by the Division of Continuing Studies and the Morgridge Center for Public Service. With this, Krier created the program called Little Aldos, which was offered through the YMCA Camp DayCroix during the summer of 2015. The programs she developed were targeted for different ages of campers but had a core value aimed at the teachings of Aldo Leopold. Throughout the summer, Krier worked with kids on an array of projects, including building benches and setting up a compost system for food waste. The goal was for campers to interact with nature in a meaningful way in order to understand their relevance and impact as environmental stewards.
