Concussion in Adolescents
Concussion can affect adolescents across various aspects of life. Traci Snedden, an Assistant Professor with the UW-Madison School of Nursing, focuses her research on concussion in adolescent athletes. She analyzes the effects of concussion as they relate to cognitive deficits and academic challenges. Snedden works with area high schools, athletic organizations and clinical providers to examine post-concussion instructions, follow-up and the process of returning student athletes to their sport and schoolwork. Snedden’s research program is aimed at ensuring adolescents and their families are provided with consistent evidence-based post-concussion injury knowledge and guidance to support optimal recovery outcomes.
