Planning A.H.E.A.D.: Advance directives, Home finances, Estate planning, and Arriving at Decisions for the end of this life
The Planning AHEAD series provides people of all ages the information they need to plan for the end of this life. The series and workbook materials guide participants through the steps of completing advanced medical and legal directives, handling financial changes, estate planning, end-of-life care, final wishes and understanding grief. This program connects participants with the information needed to make informed decisions about pre-planning for the end-of-life and it aims to normalize communication about one's wishes to their loved ones.
Outcomes
End-of-life planning can be intimidating and confusing, yet it is one of the most important and loving gifts that someone can give to their loved ones. Planning AHEAD provides education and tools that help Wisconsinites plan for the end of this life which can reduce the financial and emotional burden that families are faced with when someone passes. Initial findings of the Planning AHEAD series show that one-hundred percent of participants indicated that they learned enough to move forward with planning and eighty-eight percent were more confident in having conversations with loved ones.
