Comprehensive Health Enhancement Support System (CHESS)
The Comprehensive Health Enhancement Support System (CHESS) is development of software to provide support to breast cancer patients, in both English and Spanish. The support system is effective across the state, but headquartered in Madison. The team is partnered with UW Hospital and Clinics, as well as other health providers statewide. CHESS uses home computers to provide problem solving support, offer resources for decision making, and give social support through discussion groups.The software integrates comprehensive, up-to-date information, interactive assessment, behavior change and decision tools, and support that is convenient, anonymous and controlled by the user.
