Urban and Regional Planning 912: Planning Workshop
The City of Madison, Dane County, City of Lodi, Town of Verona, Calumet County, Jefferson County and Columbia County have partnered with UW-Madison urban and regional planning students on policy and planning issues. The course Urban and Regional Planning 912: Planning Workshop is a capstone experience for the professional M.S. degree program, where instruction is rotated among faculty. This service learning course provides an opportunity for the class of 25 to 30 students to work with a "client" (e.g., town, village, city or nonprofit organization). Products include "visioning" sessions with the client and other stakeholders, in addition to precedent studies and evaluations of alternative courses of action.
