Family Horticulture Day at West Madison Agriculture Research Station
UW-Madison's Annual Family Horticulture Day welcomes gardeners of all ages to the UW West Madison Agriculture Research Station to hone their horticulture skills. Participants have the opportunity to talk with UW-Extension Master Gardeners about garden plans, try hands-on Plant Science Exploration Stations, tour the Trial Gardens and design a taste-test of Babcock Hall ice creams flavored with plant extracts. The Biology Outreach Club, Soils Club, Collegiate FFA, the MicroExplorers program and the Science Alliance at UW-Madison have been partners in Family Horticulture Day.
Outcomes
Participants connect to UW-Madison resources that improve the quality of life through better gardening (one of America's leading hobbies), and cultivate science savvy through experience in designing and doing experiments with plants.
