Wisconsin Cranberry School
Students from at least 17 counties in northern and central Wisconsin have attended the Wisconsin Cranberry School sponsored by UW-Extension and the Wisconsin State Cranberry Growers Association. Wisconsin is the leading producer of cranberries in the world. The Wisconsin Cranberry School is an annual educational event for cranberry growers. At this event growers are given the latest research information that will enable them to grow their crop in a profitable and environmentally sound manner. Over time the meetings moved to the auditorium of the McMillan Library in Wisconsin Rapids then to the Mead Inn and later to the Stevens Point Holiday Inn as attendance increased. At its peak, attendance exceeded 450 including growers from other states and Canada.
