Variety Test Results: Corn, Soybeans, Alfalfa, Small Grains
The mission of this project is to develop relevant corn management programs that address needs expressed by Wisconsin farmers. Although farmers are the primary clientele, the general public ultimately benefits and pays for this program. Specific objectives of this project focus on management decision-making regarding crop productivity, quality and production system efficiency, including hybrid selection, rotation, tillage, and replant and yield loss damage assessments. Emphasis is placed on impacts of cropping practices on grower profitability, the environment and natural resource conservation.
Outcomes
Wisconsin crop growers are able to use the results of the trials to make informed decisions regarding the most appropriate seed technologies for use on their farms. Improved seeds that help resist challenges from weather, insects, disease and weeds improve yields that reduce risk and improve returns to the growers.
