Evaluation of Instructional Improvement - Literacy Focus: Substantive and Technical Component
Prof. Camburn helped the Milwaukee public school district develop a survey that measures how well teachers' practice reflects district standards. The survey is also being used to shed light on efforts to improve teaching practice in the district and to examine the link between classroom teaching and student achievement.
Outcomes
Survey results have helped school administrators and teachers see the extent to which teaching in their school is meeting district standards. Future work with the survey will help district officials understand what kinds of instructional practices are associated with higher student achievement.
