Integrative Medicine Web-Based Educational Modules for Clinicians and Handouts for Patients
A UW-Madison team has created educational modules for health care practitioners and made them available on the UW-Madison Department of Family Medicine website. The goal is to increase the knowledge of health practitioners about proven non-pharmaceutical therapies for chronic diseases commonly managed in primary care, and in turn improve the health of the general public. The modules encourage the use of therapies that focus on prevention and promote self-healing so that fewer medications and treatments are needed, reducing the potential for both harm and cost. Each module contains four sections: an overview, Clinical Pearls for Clinicians, a podcast or video for clinicians and a handout in lay language for patients.
