Antarctic Meteorological Research Center
The Antarctic Meteorological Research Center (AMRC) mission involves research in Antarctic observational meteorology and the stewardship of Antarctic meteorological data, along with providing data and expert assistance to the community in support of research, education and operations. UW-Madison and many of Wisconsin's residents have had a long relationship with the Antarctic. The AMRC's objective is to bring the Antarctic alive to students and the general public, while illustrating the importance of this faraway continent to Wisconsin and the world.
Outcomes
The AMRC grassroots educational outreach effort aims to bring a taste of Antarctica via a weather research project to a wide variety of audiences (e.g. preschools, grade schools, middle and senior high school, college classrooms, service organizations, public libraries, service organizations, the general public, etc.).
