550 sets of tax forms completed in the state for free brings two benefits: One of these benefits is that individuals and families save approximately $500 as they have their forms completed accurately. Most low-income people leave money on the table when they do their own tax forms. A second benefit is that money is not sent out of the state to tax preparers who charge, many times, very large fees for preparation and loans against people's refunds. The advantage of starting and growing companies, especially in inner cities, is that employment is created. The center is directly responsible for helping create 75 jobs in Milwaukee. The Wisconsin Business Development Growth Fund and its in-house affiliate have funded over 2,000 companies in Wisconsin. While it is difficult to quantify the effect of finance on job creation, Wisconsin Business Development has funded companies with, in total, approximately 30,000 employees.
